Game Analysis:
Ok well, I don’t think anyone saw the Sixers dominating the first half like they did. Tobias Harris played well, but the performance of Tyrese Maxey was more shocking than how bad season 8 of Game of Thrones was.
Right off the bat, I don’t think anything about that Tyrese Maxey performance is repeatable. He only averages around 17 ppg, and the Raptors were playing small, doing their best to slow Embiid down, which I think they did very well holding him to 19 points. Harden dropped 22 but really struggled from the floor shooting 35% which bodes well for the Toronto D. The Raps sold out to stop Embiid which worked, but in doing so spread their defense thinner than flat Stanley letting Maxey have a career playoff performance.
Now for the Raptors. Siakam played well and efficiently, but Fred VanVleet and Chris Boucher got into foul trouble before both eventually fouling out. Next game they need to focus on being more careful with the ball and better on the glass. They did well to limit Embiid and force Harden to struggle, and now they know to spread the defense around a little and keep other guys like Harris and Maxey in mind. If the Raps execute better and stay out of foul trouble I think you can get them at a great value. Take the Raps.
