I haven’t seen Mark Cuban get spanked like that since he invested in Hy-Conn on Shark Tank. Luka looked bad…really bad. And look, I love Luka. I do not have wet dreams about him like the good folks over at Bleacher Report, but watching him pants the Suns and stuff them in a locker was incredible. This will not be their first time playing in the Western Conference Finals, they have a generational talent, and Mark Cuban is one of the most motivated owners in the NBA. These teams run their offenses completely differently, but they do share one similarity: they hit you with deep strikes like Harry Truman, and we saw a lot of that from the Warriors last night. The Mavs hold the ball a long time; in fact, Luka as an individual player in the playoffs, leads the league in time with the ball. The Warriors run one of the NBA’s fastest offenses; they constantly share the ball and force big men to switch.
I know that the Warriors looked great in game one, but I’m still skeptical about Klay and Draymond Green. At times, Klay has looked like 2017 Klay, and at others, he’s looked like Ryan Anderson. Much like Garfield trying to steal his neighbor’s pie, the Warriors know that their window is closing, so they will fight their hardest to get to the Finals. Additionally, the Warrior’s bench is deeper than the pool Gatsby died in. At times, Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins have looked like stars, which was on full display in game one.
Game one was like a single Mom checking up on her youngest child while something was still on the stove, we didn’t see the fire the Warriors set in the third quarter coming, but it happened. Luka is too good to be contained like that again. The Mavs are too competitive of a team to get slapped around like that again. Take Dallas in game two.
