If you’re not excited about an SEC matchup then stop reading this right now. I don’t care what these team’s records are. SEC is SEC. This game is going to be competitive, up-tempo, and hard-fought. Both of these teams are looking for something to salvage from lackluster seasons. Closing out their last few games strong would surely help them out.
The Florida Gators maybe five and four, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a good football team. They have already beaten ranked teams this season. Who says they can’t take on this iteration of the LSU Tigers? Graham Mertz may not be Caleb Williams, but he’s been playing well. Over 2,400 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns. He’s also one of the best QB’s in college football when it comes to ball security, only throwing two picks on the season thus far. Safe football is very often winning football. Just ask Josh Allen! Ricky Pearsall has also been a bit of a diamond in the rough for this offense with over 700 receiving yards and four house calls. When playing a team that let Ole Miss drop 55 on them, Ricky could feast.
LSU has been another one of those SEC teams where you look at them and think, “ain’t no way your team is that good and you’ve lost three games”. I mean even giving this team’s roster a basic scan I was surprised to see who played for them. Jayden Daniel’ has thrown for almost 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. Those are similar numbers to freaking Michale Penix who is leading an undefeated team. Malik Nabers has over 1,100 receiving yards this year and 10 touchdowns. Do you know where those numbers put him? Top in the College Football world! Yes, that includes Marvin Harrison Jr who has a measly 914 yards to go along with his 10 touchdowns. This team has the star power to beat anyone, and that definitely includes the Gators.
