Can it get more dramatic than this? There has not been a more hated man in Boston since Benedict Arnold, and if you asked people outside of TD Garden, they would probably say that Kyrie is a bigger traitor. I almost feel bad for Celtics fans because the Nets being a seven seed is a little screwy, but we can all agree that Boston fans have seen enough championships this decade. The Celtics aren’t an easy matchup for the Nets. Brooklyn will need to transition with the fervor of Caitlyn Jenner on defense, Bruce Brown will need to contribute at the same level he did late in the regular season, and as a team, they need to move the ball quickly against a Boston team that’s as effective as Alan Dershowitz on defense. Getting Ben Simmons back to guard Jayson Tatum would easily give Brooklyn the edge in this series, but the Nets have the pieces to get the job done even without him. As unfortunate as the Patrick Williams injury is, it DOES change this series. As Bruce Brown said, the Celtics’ big men are a much less effective unit without him on the floor. Take Brooklyn.
