Well, there is not much to say about this game. For the few Chelsea fans that are left, this was the chance they had to save this failing season. Winning or at least going deep into the Champions League. But Real Madrid took that chance and did to it what Casemiro does to attacking players driving down the field. Destroyed them. Even though Real is already up two goals against Chelsea I don’t think they take their foot off the gas. It’s too deep into the tourney. I would say this game will go the same way as the last one. Chelsea is a team that is spiraling. No, not even spiraling, they are free-falling. They have no manager, no chemistry, and not a single win in their past who knows how many games. While we’re talking about what the Blues don’t have let’s not forget to mention their attacking talent. This team is more devoid of goal scorers than my DMs are of women who are attracted to me. I have heard of a few signings not working out, but somehow not a single one of the attacking signatures that Chelsea managed to gather are good. Completely unheard of. How do you sign a million wingers and yet none of them know how to score goals? Chelsea has been relying on the magnificence of their outside wingbacks to do literally anything in games, which is not exactly a recipe for success.
Real Madrid is one of the best teams in the world right now. Karim Benzema is having a very similar statistical season to one Erling Haaland this year, and yet no one is talking about it. He has 14 goals and 3 assists in 19 games that he’s played this season. Not to mention their young Brazilian phenoms Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo who can both get the ball across the field to Benzema for easy goals or create for themselves. And to go with this amazing attack is a midfield that has aged like fine wine. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have somehow lost none of their forms even though they’ve been playing at this level for years. Even though this team isn’t currently winning La Liga they do have something that Barcelona will never have, at least not for a while. A real chance to win the Champions League this year. They have a top defense, a great midfield, and a stellar attack. Not to mention a world-class keeper.
