COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY! Man, I have missed this. It’s a crisp fall afternoon, you’re violently hungover from the Friday night before trying to get ready for another wild night with your friends this Saturday and you turn on the TV and what’s on? Some good old-fashioned, wonderful College Football. This game happens to be Navy against Notre Dame, a game that was, until 2019, the longest uninterrupted inter-sectional rivalry in college football. And while it had been a game in which Notre Dame has historically had the edge, the Navy has been snagging some dubs in recent years. This looks to be an amazing matchup to help kick off the beautiful game of College Football.

So yes I know historically Notre Dame has kinda put the pounding on the Navy, but that has not been the case anymore. In fact, the Navy has won as recently as 2016 against the Fighting Irish, and in most games afterward has made the scoreline competitive. Even looking at just last year the Navy only lost by 3 in a really close game that ended 35 to 32. If you think that the Navy aren’t gonna come out to play against their long-time rivals then you better think again. I expect the rushing attack to come out firing again as it did last year, when we saw Daba Fofana, have his second-highest game in rushing yards on the season against Notre Dame.

Notre Dame, however, is still Notre Dame, and while the Navy will definitely give them a fight Notre Dame should still be the more talented team. What they do with that roster is anyone’s guess. After a somewhat disappointing 2022 campaign where we saw new head coach Marcus Freeman finish with a 9-4 record, I’m sure we’ll see him hope to bounce back with a winning start in Dublin Ireland this year. His Fighting Irish did most of their damage in the air last season so I’d expect that to be a good antithesis to Navy’s rushing attack. Between the game being in Dublin, and the length of talent that their roster contains I may lean toward Notre Dame when I’m lookin at this one.

It’s Navy versus Notre Dame, anything can happen. Bet on either team and get your extra $200 in bet credits.
