I’m not saying that this game is going to be a mid-off because I’m pretty sure these teams aren’t out of the postseason race yet, but my goodness have these teams had some surprising seasons. The Yankees paid Aaron Judge all that money to somehow get worse and the Detroit Tigers are unsurprisingly still the Tigers. I’m not saying to ignore this game though, both of these teams are, at this point, gunning for one of those last-minute Wildcard slots, and I think that pretending they’re not would also be silly. But honestly, who knows who will come out on top in this series?

The Detroit Tigers have been an alright team this season. They have a solid amount of individual talent, but that hasn’t amounted to that many wins. They do have the slightly worse record between these two teams right now, but they also sit higher in their respective American League Division. When I’m talking about individual talent on the Tigers I’m of course talking about Spencer Torkelson who has been lights-on swinging the bat this year. He’s amassed 24 home runs, 69 RBIs, and a batting average of .227. And he’s not the only one that’s been flexing his batting chops. Kerry Carpenter has been that other batter who’s been showing off. He has had 20 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a batting average of .287. With these two batters, you never know what could happen.

The Yankees of course have the talent to win this game as well. They have four different batters with 20 or more home run hits. One of which is Aaron Judge who is just straight-up elite. He has had 29 home runs, and 59 RBIs in only 279 at-bats which is absolutely insane. If he is able to get his feet under him for the game he could definitely be a problem. And he isn’t the only elite hitter on the Yanks. Gleyber Torres has also been on fire, he’s gotten 23 homers on his own to add to 57 RBIs and a batting average of .270. He’s been by far their most consistent batting talent and the matchup hitting-wise between these two teams could be glorious.

Either of these teams could honestly win this game, both are looking to find some footing. Bet on either team and get your extra $200 in bet credits.
