Game Analysis:
Sunday Night Football is back and fans are in for a great matchup between two of the league’s most storied franchises. The Dallas Cowboys will travel to Acrisure Stadium to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Head coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers will have revenge on their minds heading into Sunday night’s matchup. After starting the season 3-0 they suffered their first loss of the season to Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
But the Steelers have shown signs of being a true competitor to this point of the season. And a big part of that has been in part thanks to their new quarterback Justin Fields who is arguably having the best start to the season of his career. He is currently averaging more passing yards per game than Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, and Derek Carr.
It also helps that he has a deep threat like George Pickens to soften up the defense. With Fields looking to avenge himself from a nightmarish three seasons with the Chicago Bears, he’ll be looking to put on a show in primetime.
As for the Cowboys, although they are coming off of a win in their last contest they have a lot to prove in this matchup. The Cowboys were viewed as perennial Super Bowl contenders headed into this matchup.
But so far they have looked like a team that will have to claw their way into the playoffs. Especially with Jayden Daniels and the commanders looking like a serious threat in the NFC East.
The Cowboys have an assortment of playmakers on offense. CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, and of course Dak Prescott under center. But so in the last two weeks, that offense has left a lot to be desired.
The defense has been inherently worse. They held a lowly New York Giants team to 20 points last week. But prior to that, they gave up 44 points to the New Orleans Saints and 28 points to the Baltimore Ravens.
So whether you are rooting for a clear favorite or hoping for a miracle by the underdog, the most important thing to remember is that you must be in it to win it.
